Something shiny, something new, something golden and we only made a few (but more on the way).
Designing any light piece which evolves from the usual materials, forms and textures, has to respect a practical principle: the light bulb needs to work, and light should shine through. Gimmicky design may prove photo-pretty and drive a few ohlalalas, but the truth is, no circus act can last long.
As we are very keen at the Studio to keep it simple but magical, and always with a twist, we came up with an extraordinary idea which makes our Clam Pendants a bit of a standout. If they look apparently simple, it’s because they are shaped by mimicking the form of the Cataplana pans typical of the Algarve region. And it is a testament to the incredible, experience-rich and craft maverick style makers who still make these by hand, expertly, that this collection has a soft spot in our hearts (and at our dear friends at AUSTA Restaurant who made this project possible).
In the end, light always finds a way to break through.
This is one of those moments.
