Created in collaboration with ST VINCENTS and Nick Valentijn, the MINE(ral) Wall Lamp reflects on collaboration as a transformative process.
As any object takes shape, it passes through many hands. It is carried, transported and transformed. It travels underground and overground. It experiences light and darkness, cold and heat. It contracts and expands. It changes shape.
A collaboration follows the same path. In a way, every joint venture is an exercise in layering, of materials, ideas and perspectives.
Some call it patina.
When is a wall lamp more than a wall lamp?
When it shines a light where there was once shadow.
